My Vision for Wilsonville
I am running for City Council to ensure that working families see themselves reflected in local leadership, focusing my campaign on affordability, infrastructure, and sustainable economic prosperity.
Affordability
All families need a voice, now more than ever. As the cost of living rises and our budgets are spread thin, the City must avoid passing additional financial burdens on to Wilsonville residents. Through creative budgeting, we can maintain our current high service levels without shifting costs onto our community.
Infrastructure
The Boone Bridge is a vital piece of infrastructure for the entire Willamette Valley. Advocating for state and federal funds to replace the bridge is critical, and I am committed to prioritizing this effort before disaster strikes. Additionally, Wilsonville is known for traffic challenges. I will champion surface street traffic studies and future projects to mitigate the I-5 spillover that creates daily headaches for our residents.
Business & economy
We must support our existing local businesses, strengthen our industrial employers, and attract new enterprises to revitalized, walkable commercial areas. Wilsonville thrives on the right mix of businesses supporting our citizens, industry, and visitors. I am committed to attracting living-wage and union jobs to our city. I draw a firm line against new industries that deplete our natural resources or increase costs for residents and damage our environment, and this means no new data centers.
A Fresh Perspective
We must balance a deep appreciation for Wilsonville’s history with a forward-looking vision that keeps our city a place where families want to invest their futures. The perspectives of working families must be a priority in local decision-making. I know what it’s like to juggle work, family, home, and community involvement. I returned to Wilsonville because it is a uniquely safe and supportive community, and I am dedicated to ensuring it remains that way for generations to come.
A Voice for Everyone
True leadership requires transparency and trust. Every resident deserves to know how decisions are made and feel they have a fair opportunity to participate, whether they’ve lived here for decades or just arrived. Local government should be accessible: featuring easy-to-attend meetings, plain language, and ample opportunities to be heard.
Wilsonville’s greatest strength is its people, and our local government must ensure everyone is respected, information is shared openly, and meaningful contribution is the standard. When we trust the process, even difficult decisions can earn broad community support.
Getting to "Yes"
Leadership begins with listening to Wilsonville residents and helping them navigate government systems to remove unnecessary barriers. The answer might be “yes, and…” or “yes, but…”, but we need leaders committed to actively listening to our community while finding collaborative paths forward.
Town Center: Vision Alone Is Not Enough
Our Town Center should be the vibrant, walkable heart of Wilsonville.
I support smart, community-focused development that transforms this area into a hub for small local businesses, family-friendly events, and safe public spaces where our community can gather and connect. However, vision alone isn’t enough. We need to get the work started. Transforming this area requires private owners willing to sell and new developers ready to build. The City’s most vital role is to make those private investments viable by putting the right infrastructure in place to support large-scale redevelopment. I am committed to laying the necessary groundwork so we can finally move from planning to action and bring this project to life.
